The Battle of Waterloo was fought on June 18 1815 near Waterloo in present-day Belgium. It resulted in the defeat of Napoleon Bonaparte by the Duke of Wellington commanding allied forces supported by Prussian troops. This battle ended the Napoleonic Wars and Napoleon's political career.
